That never made sense to me, so I'm guessing it was Cito's doing. Sure, Tallet came in and pitched very well for a while but Tallet isn't part of the long-term plans, Purcey is. He's 27 already and he's always going to have BB issues, so I don't know what they were trying to do with him by sending him down. They either panicked and/or they got fooled by the hot streak, so they sent him down instead of letting him work through it and develop.SPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15861389212599241745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747236263452087289.post-80441204997718978282009-09-28T10:43:08.228-04:002009-09-28T10:43:08.228-04:00Yeeeeeeeeah, as adept as the other ones might be, ...Yeeeeeeeeah, as adept as the other ones might be, the "Purcey should never have been sent down" bit makes you stop and say, "Wait, what?"DaveChttp://davechurch.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-747236263452087289.post-76688814220009679922009-09-27T23:33:25.583-04:002009-09-27T23:33:25.583-04:00Purcey shouldn't have been sent down? And he's another player misused by Cito, ...Yep. And he's another player misused by Cito, along with Ruiz, Accardo, Millar, Snider, Purcey (he should've never been sent down), and Carlson (overused). I used to simply think managers don't mean anything in baseball. I'll revise that: so-called "good" managers don't really mean anything because the decisions should be obvious anyway; BAD managers can actively cost you wins by not doing those aforementioned obvious things. Cito is apparently a "players manager". Isn't that just another way of saying "he needs great players to be considered a 'good manager'"?SPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15861389212599241745noreply@blogger.com
